About the Journal

Scope and objectives

The Revista Agronómica del Noroeste Argentino (RANAR) is a periodic scientific publication that
publishes research papers on topics related to the agricultural and veterinary sectors. It is published
biannually by the Faculty of Agronomy, Zootechnics, and Veterinary (FAZyV) of the National University of Tucumán (UNT) and has national and international circulation. It is aimed at researchers, professionals, and students in agricultural, livestock, and veterinary sciences, as well as extension workers and those who work for the benefit of agricultural productivity, the agricultural industry, and animal health. The journal aims to disseminate articles derived from research and
experimentation in various areas of agricultural, veterinary, and related sciences. It publishes scientific articles (original works), review articles (by invitation), short communications, veterinary cases, methodological articles, and articles related to professional training that contribute new knowledge and insights on various scientifically relevant aspects, framed within high standards of scientific rigor and editorial quality. The opinions, results, and statements published in RANAR only reflect the views of its authors and do not commit the policies of FAZyV or the opinions of its Director and Editorial Committee.

Editorial policy

Submitted articles must be original; therefore, authors may not submit works that have been published or simultaneously submitted for publication in other scientific or technical journals or publications (unless it is part of a degree thesis, final degree project, postgraduate thesis, or a conference abstract). The Director and Editorial Committee reserve the right to reject submitted works for publication.

The presentation of articles must adhere to the guidelines established by the Editorial Committee
in the "Instructions for Authors" section. Manuscripts should be submitted through the RANAR website (https://www.ranar.unt.edu.ar).

Articles that do not conform to the publication standards will be returned before being considered
for evaluation, as well as those in which plagiarism is detected.

The articles received by the journal undergo a peer-review process; they are reviewed and analyzed
by at least two external evaluators selected by the Editorial Committee. The evaluation process is
conducted in a "double-blind" manner to maintain the anonymity of the authors and reviewers. If the articles are accepted for publication, the authors must make corrections based on the referees' feedback within the allotted time. If two reviewers consider that a work does not meet the required level and scientific quality, it will not be published.

The submission of articles to RANAR implies: i) that their publication has been approved by all coauthors
and complies with the regulations of the institution where the research was conducted; ii) when applicable, that the results presented come from projects approved by the Biosafety and/or Bioethics Committees of the participating institutions; and iii) that the authors transfer the publication rights to RANAR.

There is no publication fee for authors. Additionally, articles published in RANAR are freely accessible; they are available for free download on the journal's website and on the SciELO Argentina portal.

RANAR is published under the Creative Commons By NC Sa license. Commercial use of the original work or possible derivative works is not permitted, and distribution of such works must be done under a license identical to the one governing the original work. This license is not an open license.
