Cuatero INTA, a new maize cultivar (Zea mays L.) for subtropical Argentina

Corn crops play an important role in the agricultural sustainability of the northwestern region in the Argentine Republic (NOA region). This work presents the open-pollinated variety Cuatero INTA, a new cultivar which can be recommended for subtropical regions in Argentina, north of the 30° LS parallel, due to its high adaptation levels, yield potential (8,000 kg/ha), low seed cost, and tolerance to heat and diseases typical of the region. Indeed, this cultivar could cover the needs of both small farmers and producers in marginal areas
